Recent race calls by The Associated Press guarantee Republicans a narrow majority in the House and a three-seat majority in the Senate. The campaign for control of the House was waged on a narrow playing field of roughly three dozen competitive districts.

Republicans have won enough seats to control the House of Representatives, completing the party’s sweep into power and securing their hold on both chambers of Congress and the White House. Republicans gained control of the Senate last week.

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump's Republicans on Tuesday inched closer to winning a majority in the House of Representatives and with it full control of Congress, which would give Trump power to advance his agenda when he returns to the White House in January.
